Rob's Chilly Willy (R.Robinson)

Thumbnail. Doubled white fluted stars with blue shadows and edges.

The foliage is slightly elongated, pointed bright green with yellow crown variegation. Foliage lies neatly and evenly, leaf to leaf. Crown variegation on small leaves is well preserved in adult plants, and therefore the flowering rosette looks like a multi-colored ball - golden at the bottom and silver-blue at the top.

Very neat, plump rosette with a diameter of 10-11 cm. Petiteness is the strongest feature of this variety, even the sport on a variegated rosette looks chic.

Double, round, cupped white with bluish bluish shading coming from the center of the flower, the colors flowing into each other. The edges of the petals have a light blue fringe. Although there is no mention of bluebells in the author's description of this variety, the flowers are semibell-shaped. Usually flowers are only semi-double and single, very rarely double.

Profuse and long flowering, about a month. Blooms rarely - no more than twice a year. Large blue flowers are arranged in a beautiful wreath. She has short peduncles, hides the flowers under the leaves, if they crawl out from under the foliage, they remain sticking out between the leaves - this is a feature of the variety. In hot weather, there is little white on the flower. This variety is prone to darkening, in two to three years the rosette is darkened.

Easy to propagate from cuttings and produce many babies. Not capricious, but slow variety due to its variegation. For a long time he sits in children and does not want to grow up. Requires very careful fertilization and lots of bright light. Ideally, the peat mixture should not be very nutritious.

Turns white on windowsill in natural light and yellow variegation under lights. Little stepchildren, on some specimens stepchildren do not grow at all. Often sports, immediately blooms blue, without even a hint of white.
