Mobids Plants places great emphasis on the cultivation of high quality aquarium plants. We pay special attention to quality so that you can enjoy beautiful and healthy plants.
We work hard and do our best to achieve superior plant quality for your enjoyment. We perform regular maintenance, including daily proper care, weekly algae checks, and monthly tests or treatments as needed. Regular maintenance includes deep cleaning, fine tuning of CO2 and lighting in the aquarium, as well as nutrient levels, including macronutrients (nitrate, phosphate, potassium) and trace elements, including iron, with a special liquid aquarium fertilizer for each individual setting. We've done a lot of work behind the scenes, including comprehensive cleaning and algae prevention in our aquariums.
To maintain the production of high quality plants for our customers, we invest heavily in aquarium equipment, constantly looking for new information and improving.
Mobids Plants manually cleanses the plants in both directions (inbound and outbound) to ensure that the plants are clean to the highest standards. Plants delivered to our customers are washed by hand before being carefully packed. When we acquire new plants, all plants are manually cleaned and quarantined. All this is done to ensure that the plants we propagate and ship are clean and pest-free.
We want you to get high quality, clean aquarium plants so you can happily plant them right out of the box when it arrives. As passionate aquarists ourselves, we understand the frustration of getting plants with algae and unwanted pests. No plant aquarium owner likes to waste time dealing with poor quality plants.
An added benefit when buying from Mobids Plants is that you can rest assured that your aquarium plants will not have the duckweed, the unwanted Riccia, on your aquarium plants.
All of our plants are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely at your place. All plants have a minimum of 2 layers of protection (inner and outer). Each plant is wrapped in a damp cloth and sealed in a zip-lock bag. For external protection, all plants are neatly arranged and protected by a rigid box. If necessary, we also use bubble wrap or rock wool for the third layer of protection. We are implementing the Kaizen concept in our meticulous packaging method to achieve excellence in this area, as we know how to ensure the safe delivery of plants in the healthiest condition.
All Mobids Plants are individually labeled for easy identification so you know exactly which is which. We always think of you and understand what it is like to get plants without a name. Thus, we always make sure that all our plants are always labeled.
All photos of plants in the Mobids Plants online store were taken by us in a unique style. We have spent years of work making over 10,000+ unique photos and about 800+ selected photos have been uploaded to our online store. We do not use plant photos copied from Google or other sources in our store. In the hobbyist, it can be a common practice to copy-paste as it is a “quick and easy” method. However, we do not believe that this is the right way, and therefore we go the hard way by taking all the photos of the plants ourselves.
Using someone else's photos and information, besides being wrong, because it uses someone else's work, also misrepresents the plant, because the plant belongs to another person and is not the same plant that is grown for sale. Secondly, we want to present you with unique photographs of our real plants that we are growing.
When it comes to plant descriptions, we want to provide you with useful information based on our long-term observations and distribution experience to help you improve your aquarium. Thus, we do not practice "copy-paste" descriptions of plant profiles, etc. In any case, it is wrong to take someone else's work. If you do a Google search, you will see that there are over 10 websites that share the same or very similar plant descriptions to each other, as they were copied and pasted from one to the other.
Once again, we want to assure you that all photos and descriptions of plants posted in our store were made by me personally, and if you see the same text or photo in other sources, it means that they are copied from us.
We have hands-on experience for aquarium plants. This can help you if you need advice on how to create optimal conditions for certain plants such as bucephalandra, anubias, ferns and mosses. We answer all questions related to the characteristics and content of our plants.
At Mobids Plants, we take plant preservation seriously. We have put a lot of time, effort and research into doing our best to keep our products authentic. For example, we spent about 1 year watching our Anubias White herds grow to make sure they don't grow as big as Anubias Pinto. After 1 year of observation, we offer Anubias White only after we can confirm it. We did the same with many plants, including Fern and some rare Bucephalandra.
All this takes a long time, but helps to improve the accuracy and authenticity of our plants. Since we ourselves are amateurs and care about our clients, each client is valuable to us, and the authenticity of our plants is above the profit. While we do not claim to be perfect for each individual plant, we do our best in this area. Many people may not realize this, but when we suspect that some species of mosses have mixed up beyond recognition, we sometimes just throw them away completely. Since customers come first, not profit, we are ready to sacrifice them for the benefit of our customers.
As of 2021, over 95% of the live aquarium plants available in our online aquarium store are grown in an aquatic environment using mostly professional aquarium equipment. This is a huge advantage, since you don't have to suffer from the problems that can arise when plants move to the aquatic environment. Unbeknownst to many newcomers, most places sell floating aquarium plants, which may require additional knowledge and effort to adapt.
The melting problem occurs when the plant goes from above-water to submerged, and this process can take several weeks. During this process, the plant leaves melt and decompose, which is not only ugly, but also leaves behind organic matter and dramatically increases the phosphate level in your tank. Increased organic matter levels and excess phosphate / nutrient imbalances can lead to secondary problems that are associated with algae. In newer aquariums, decaying plants can also increase ammonia levels, which are harmful to freshwater fish and invertebrates such as shrimp.
The above explains that when given a choice, almost all plants in a submerged aquarium are always better than in an above water aquarium. Instead of spending days or weeks watching the emerging plants melt as they pass, you can simply plant the underwater aquarium plants in your tank and have fun watching them grow beautifully without that melting mess.
However, while underwater aquarium plants are better suited for clients, most nurseries prefer to grow most aquatic plants emerging because it is much cheaper for the nursery. No expensive carbon dioxide (CO2) installation required, no aquarium filters required, much less water and electricity costs, etc. Besides the lower cost factor, it also takes much longer to grow an aquarium plant underwater due to the slower growth in this case compared to when it is grown above water. Extra effort is needed to grow plants underwater as extra work is required to maintain a 24/7 balance of nutrient levels, water quality, and excellent water flow to avoid algae problems, especially at high light intensities. For these reasons, you will find that those aquarium plants that have been grown in nurseries and supplied to fish and aquarium shops usually do not look very healthy and begin to melt a few days after you place them in your aquarium. As true aquarium enthusiasts, we don't want our customers to face this problem. This is why, where possible, we try to grow as many aquarium plants as possible in our indoor aquariums.
Growing aquarium plants in closed aquariums using a Co2 system, high-tech LEDs and multiple filters is costly for us. It also takes a lot of our time and really hard work, but we believe in the principle and value of quality over quantity.
We do our best to achieve excellence in customer service because we value you as our customer. All Mobids Plants customers love quick responses. 95% of questions are usually answered within 12 hours. We even answer emails at 2am on holidays.
As true aquarium lovers at heart, we are passionate about what we do. For us, customers are always above profit. We do our best to bring joy to our customers in the form of carefully packaged high quality aquarium plants to help them decorate their aquarium.
Last but not least, Mobids Plants implements the Kaizen concept, which is the concept of continuous improvement. This concept, which business school graduates think of, came from Japan, where it is used in many companies to achieve excellence. This includes Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Nissan, Sony.
